As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.

The project SAR has the objective to improve the prerequisites for climate change adaptation and climate risk management in certain areas of Pakistan. The development of climate risk assessments will set the ground for new planning and financing instruments dealing with climate risk management at provincial level, with a focus on the most vulnerable communities. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting and monitoring the project implementation of SAR (Strengthening Climate adaptation and resilience) measures in cooperation with the project team and project partners
  • Project intervention areas and project management activities regarding monitoring and evaluation
  • Advising the project technical team and partners to jointly plan and coordinate the implementation of project activities 
  • Developing and strengthening the monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures
  • Monitoring all project activities and progress to achieving the project output
  • Establishing and implementing appropriate monitoring frameworks, data collection and analysis methods
  • Developing a monitoring and evaluation system and measure the key performance indicators for the project success 
  • Leading and implementing the reporting processes, such as regular project updates and annual reports, including field visits
  • Setting up and maintaining a digital archiving system of all data and information related to M&E activities
  • Supporting the management with the development of operational plans, procurement activities, drafting reports, TORs, technical and legal concepts, training and capacity building, implementation of selected measures, coordination with the team

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in an area that is related to the project objectives, or any other relevant field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience
  • Previous exposure and experience in working for non-governmental organisations, international organisations and/or donor agencies
  • Previous experience with donor reporting is an asset
  • Work experience in the climate change sector would be an asset
  • Work experience with vulnerable groups, including women, youth and/or persons with disabilities is an asset
  • Good understanding of development cooperation and advisory approaches
  • Strong M&E skills
